Thank you, Occupy Wall Street! [Feb. 8th, 2014|10:33 am]
For quite a while I've been seeing the term "the 1%" used even in contexts favoring that particular income group. Now here's one of them himself using it!

(Assuming TPM is quoting correctly)
"The one percent are getting pummeled because it's politically convenient to do so," Zell said Wednesday on Bloomberg Television.

Rather than criticize the one percent, Zell argued, people ought to emulate their work ethic.

"The one percent work harder, the one percent are much bigger factors in all forms of our society," he said.

For the paranoid version, there's also Tom Perkins, who thinks that the 1% are a persecuted minority much like Jews in Nazi Germany.

How can anybody seriously claim that the ultra rich work harder than the rest of us?

No the one percent don't bloody work harder than others! The problem is, they seem to honestly believe this, which makes them so arrogant and entitled, but it's totally untrue.
